Description
This GM Starter Heat Shield is engineered to protect OEM full-size starter motors from radiant and conductive heat generated by adjacent exhaust components. Manufactured from lightweight, double-layer aluminum, the shield acts as a thermal barrier that reduces heat soak, helping prevent starter solenoid failure, slow cranking, and no-start conditions commonly associated with high under-hood temperatures.
The precision-formed design follows the OEM starter profile for proper clearance and airflow while maintaining effective heat deflection. By lowering starter operating temperatures, this shield supports improved electrical efficiency and extended starter service life in high-heat engine applications.
